NTPC Sipat Biomass Pellet Tender 2026 – Supply of 2,65,720 MT Agro Residue Biomass Pellets | GeM Bid GEM/2026/B/7652841 in Chhattisgarh.️

NTPC Limited, India's largest power generation company, has released a major biomass pellet procurement tender for its Sipat Super Thermal Power Project located in Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh. The tender seeks the supply, transportation, loading, and delivery of 2,65,720 Metric Tonnes of Agro Residue Based Biomass Pellets (V2) on a FOR power station basis. This procurement supports NTPC's biomass co-firing initiative aimed at reducing coal consumption and lowering carbon emissions in thermal power generation.

The tender has been published on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under Bid No. GEM/2026/B/7652841 and is specifically for Non-Torrefied Biomass Pellets. The pellets must comply with NTPC's technical specifications, including the prescribed Gross Calorific Value (GCV) range and quality standards. Only Class-I Local Suppliers under the Make in India policy are eligible to participate, with a minimum local content requirement of 100%.

Interested bidders can attend the Pre-Bid Conference on 26 June 2026 at 4:00 PM (IST) via Microsoft Teams. The final date for online bid submission is 09 July 2026 at 3:00 PM, and bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM. The bid validity period is 120 days from the bid closing date.

A notable feature of this tender is that part-quantity bidding and order splitting are allowed, enabling pellet manufacturers, future pellet manufacturers, traders, consortiums, LLPs, cooperatives, and other eligible Indian entities to participate according to their production capacities. The minimum capacity requirement specified by NTPC is 14,600 MT, while the overall delivery schedule extends to 730 days. MSME purchase preference benefits are available as per Government procurement guidelines, and the tender also provides opportunities for future pellet manufacturers to participate subject to eligibility requirements.
