NTPC North Karanpura Invites Bids for 1.70 Lakh MT Biomass Pellets Supply at Chatra, Jharkhand️

NTPC Limited, India's largest power generation company, has invited competitive bids for the procurement of 170,090 MT of Agro Residue-Based Biomass Pellets for its North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (NKSTPP) situated at Tandwa, Chatra, Jharkhand. The tender forms part of NTPC's nationwide biomass co-firing initiative aimed at reducing coal consumption and promoting cleaner energy generation through the utilization of agricultural residues.

Issued under GeM Bid No. GEM/2026/B/7653787, the tender seeks the supply of non-torrefied biomass pellets meeting NTPC's prescribed technical specifications. The pellets must have an acceptable Gross Calorific Value (GCV) ranging from 2800 to 4000 Kcal/kg and comply with the requirements specified in the tender documents.

The selected suppliers will be responsible for manufacturing, loading, transportation, and delivery of biomass pellets to the North Karanpura power station. The procurement is reserved for Class-I Local Suppliers under the Make in India policy, requiring 100% local content. Purchase preference benefits are also available for eligible Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs).

A notable feature of this tender is the provision for part-quantity bidding, allowing suppliers to quote quantities based on their production capabilities. NTPC may split the total quantity among multiple bidders to ensure supply reliability and continuity. The delivery schedule extends over 730 days, providing a stable and long-term business opportunity for biomass pellet manufacturers and supply chain partners.
